Corriedale Fans Demand Deleted Scenes After Historic Soap Crossover
Soap Fans Beg for Deleted Corriedale Crossover Scenes

Devoted fans of Britain's favourite soaps have launched a final plea to television executives following a groundbreaking night of television. The historic crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale, dubbed 'Corriedale', aired on Monday evening, 6th January 2026, leaving viewers desperate for more.

The Historic Collision That Sparked a Campaign

The special episode saw the fictional worlds of Weatherfield and the Yorkshire Dales collide in dramatic fashion, centred around a horrific multi-vehicle crash on a dark country road. In a unique build-up, fans were given the power to vote for which character pairing they most wanted to see interact from a selection of four.

The duos put to the public vote were: Carla Connor (Alison King) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins); Sam Dingle (James Hooton) and Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment); Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford); and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Roy Cropper (David Neilson).

The scene featuring iconic figures Carla Connor and Charity Dingle won the popular vote, with viewers treated to their tense encounter in a hospital lift. However, the knowledge that alternative scenes were filmed has ignited a passionate campaign on social media for their release.

Fan Fury Over Unseen Footage

While a short clip of Sam Dingle and Kirk Sutherland's hilarious meeting has been shared online, fans are now demanding ITV unveil the remaining unseen interactions. On platform X, one supporter implored: "need them to upload the other scenes that didn’t win the vote now."

Another made a heartfelt request: "i know we’ve been so spoilt with content already but please may i make one last request to have a reel of deleted scenes? i just know they exist and i need them." A third directly tagged the soaps' official accounts, writing: "Please can we have the other scenes that didn’t win the vote? @itvcorrie @emmerdale I’ve seen one with Sam & Kirk but can we have Nicola & Roy and Ross & Tracy too please."

The Sam and Kirk Scene That Left Fans Wanting More

The already-released snippet offers a taste of what fans are missing. It features Emmerdale's Sam Dingle and Corrie's Kirk Sutherland comically struggling with a hospital map. The conversation takes a turn when Kirk discovers Sam's surname. "Dingle?" he laughs. "You're called Dingle? Dingle!"

An unamused Sam retorts, "There's nothing funny about it!" The scene reaches peak classic soap humour as the camera pans down to reveal Kirk has smuggled his pet dachshund, Peanut, into the hospital, prompting Sam to warn him, "I'm not sure they're allowed in here, you know?"

Reaction to this clip has only fuelled the desire for more. One viewer joked about the pair's "combined IQ of a literal peanut," while another on Reddit noted, "Kirk is the only character who would plausibly bring a dog to a hospital!"

A Precedent for Releasing Unseen Drama

The campaign for extra footage is not without precedent. In 2014, during the Who Killed Tina McIntyre? storyline, four different endings were filmed featuring potential killers Rob Donovan, Carla Connor, Tracy Barlow, and Peter Barlow. After the live reveal confirmed Rob as the culprit, ITV later released the alternative versions online for fans to enjoy.

This move sets a hopeful example for Corriedale enthusiasts, suggesting the unseen Ross and Tracy and Nicola and Roy scenes could still see the light of day. The full Corriedale: Backstage Pass special is currently available for streaming on ITVX and YouTube.
