Fans of Netflix's hit thriller The Night Agent are calling for the return of character Rose Larkin ahead of the show's fourth and final season. The series, which follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) as he uncovers a government conspiracy, will conclude after its upcoming season, creator Shawn Ryan confirmed.
Rose, played by Luciane Buchanan, was a main character in the first two seasons but was absent from season three, which shifted focus to Peter's new storyline. Viewers have taken to social media to express their desire for Rose to return and reunite with Peter before the series ends.
One fan wrote on X: 'The only acceptable way to end The Night Agent is to bring Rose back to Peter. Nothing else will make the fans happy.' Another added: 'They better bring back Rose one way or another. The Night Agent cannot end without Peter and her being endgame.'
Some fans linked Rose's absence to the show's cancellation. One user commented: 'To be honest I'm not surprised at all. Nobody can replace Rose. She risked her life for you, Peter.' Others, however, felt the show was ending at the right time, with one viewer saying: 'They are beginning to lose the plot. It's time to wrap it up.'
The first season of The Night Agent was a massive success for Netflix, amassing 812 million viewing hours between its March 2023 release and June 2024. Creator Shawn Ryan said in a statement: 'I'm so grateful to Netflix... for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans.'
The fourth and final season is currently in production. The first three seasons are available to stream on Netflix.
