Netflix Fans Demand Rose's Return as The Night Agent Ends

Netflix fans have issued a heartfelt demand following the announcement that one of the platform's most popular action thrillers will conclude after its upcoming fourth season.

Netflix confirms end of hit thriller

The streaming giant confirmed that The Night Agent, starring Gabriel Basso as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, will end after its fourth season. Production has already begun in Los Angeles for the final outing, following the massive success of season three, which aired in February 2026.

Creator Shawn Ryan said in a statement: "Ever since the initial success of The Night Agent, I've been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland's journey. I'm so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget."

Fans demand return of Rose Larkin

Upon hearing the news, fans took to X (formerly Twitter) with one unified request: the return of Luciane Buchanan as Rose Larkin, Peter's love interest who exited the series at the end of season two.

One fan wrote: "Bring back Rose and reunite her with Peter." Another added: "Ok so you know you need to bring Rose back for the final season." A third shared: "Bring back Rose for the final season!" A fourth echoed: "Just bring back Rose so we can end things properly for Peter." Another commented: "Waiting for that Rose announcement any time guys..." A final fan said: "Now bring Rose back!!!!"

Creator open to Rose's return

Ryan previously told Deadline: "I adore Luciane as a person and as a performer and I don't believe that this means we're done telling the story of Peter and Rose. I hope circumstances ultimately allow for the return of Rose to our Night Agent universe."

This leaves the door open for a romantic reunion between Peter and Rose in the final season.

New cast members for season 4

Season four has already lined up several big names, including Bosch star Titus Welliver as a special DOJ prosecutor, Trevante Rhodes as Peter's new partner Dom, Li Jun Li as Dom's wife, and Elizabeth Lail as Peter's ex-fiancée Zoe.

With the decision made pre-production, fans can expect a proper ending that wraps up Peter's story as intended by the creators. The Night Agent season 4 is currently in production for Netflix.
