Kaye Adams Admits 'Not Perfect' Amid BBC Bullying Probe

Kaye Adams has admitted she is “not perfect” and has been “soul searching” after being suspended from her BBC Radio Scotland show amid a bullying investigation. The 62-year-old presenter was removed from her Mornings With Kaye Adams programme while the BBC probes claims she “shouted and screamed” at junior staff.

Speaking on her How To Be 60 podcast, Adams described the past five weeks as “wretched” and “miserable”. She said: “I've done a lot of soul searching. It's been miserable, it's been absolutely horrible. I know I'm not the person that I was painted as. I'm not perfect, never said I was, but I'm not the person I was painted as.”

Complaints were reportedly raised under the BBC’s Call It Out scheme, following the scandal surrounding former MasterChef presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode. An insider said: “After the Gregg Wallace fiasco, they're now getting much tougher on complaints about the talent.”

Adams’ spokesperson said she has not been told why she was removed, adding she has worked for BBC Radio Scotland for over 15 years without any previous issues. The investigation reportedly involves quizzing staff about her conduct “over a number of years”.

Adams denied a “shouting incident” during a debriefing session, stating: “There was certainly no shouting on my part. It’s not my style.” A BBC Scotland spokesperson declined to comment on individual cases, saying robust internal processes are in place.
