Tom Cullen is starring in ITV's new thriller The Party, playing wealthy politician Ben Fitzmaurice. The actor, known for roles in Downton Abbey, The Gold and House of the Dragon, has a partner who is also familiar to fans of a major film franchise.

Actress Alison Sudol, Tom's partner, starred as Queenie Goldstein in the Fantastic Beasts film series, a prequel set in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The couple, who live in Wales, have two children together and have shared glimpses of their family life on social media.

A music video collaboration

While the pair have not appeared on-screen together in any TV shows or films, Tom wrote and directed a music video for Alison's 2023 single, Come on Baby.

Last year, Tom spoke about the 'tough' part of his job and being away from his family for long periods. Sharing a photo of the actress and one of their children, he praised Alison as a 'super mumma', adding: "Alison is holding down the fort at home in stressful circumstances so that I can go and work. I'm a lucky man, and we have lucky children."

What to expect from The Party

On Sunday, October 11, ITV viewers can see Tom in the first episode of the five-part series, which follows two very different friends and their lives three decades later at a party.

A synopsis reads: "The drama moves between the shocking events of the party and the police investigation that follows, with flashbacks to Martin and Ben's lives at school, university and London party days."

When asked what appealed to him about The Party, Tom replied: "A few things. I was doing a film in North Wales, and Luke reached out to me. He said he'd been developing this for a few years, and he'd really like me to play opposite him."

He added: "I knew Luke a bit, we share the same agent, and I'd met him out and about a few times. Both being Welsh, we were attracted to each other. I think he's a fantastic actor and a lovely person. So I read the script and thought it was brilliant."

The Party airs Sunday, October 11 on ITV at 9pm.
