GB News Sacks Laurence Fox and Calvin Robinson Amid 'Civil War' Claims

GB News has dismissed presenters Laurence Fox and Calvin Robinson following an on-air controversy. Fox was sacked after making derogatory comments about journalist Ava Evans, asking on air what 'self-respecting man' would 'climb into bed' with her. The channel had suspended Fox last week pending an investigation.

Calvin Robinson, another host, was also fired, with the channel citing gross misconduct related to his tweets. Robinson claimed there is a 'civil war' at GB News, stating, 'We are not the first and we are not the last.' He described Fox's comments as 'inappropriate' but argued that host Dan Wootton, who is still under investigation, should not have been suspended.

In a separate incident, police arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to Ulez cameras. A clip on social media showed officers searching Fox's house, though it is unclear if he is the arrested individual.

Fox had predicted his sacking, accusing GB News of failing to defend free speech and branding the channel 'the home of cancel culture.' Wootton later apologised, saying he reacted 'out of shock' and should have intervened immediately to challenge Fox's remarks.
