The glitterball is already starting to spin for the 2024 season of Strictly Come Dancing, with the rumour mill churning out its first potential celebrity contestant. Lewis Cope, best known for playing Nicky Milligan in the beloved ITV soap Emmerdale, is reportedly in advanced talks to join the lineup.
This news follows a pattern of soap stars finding success on the show, with many viewers believing Cope has the charm and work ethic to go far in the competition. An inside source suggested the deal is nearly sealed, stating, "He’s a great signing and is sure to be popular. Lewis is really excited about pulling on the sequins."
If confirmed, Cope wouldn't be the first from his soap opera circle to take on the challenge. His real-life partner, Nadine Mulkerrin who plays Cleo McQueen in Coronation Street, has been a huge supporter of the idea, previously expressing her desire to see him on the show.
