Scottish Love Island star Ellie Chadwick has thanked fans for their 'kindness and encouragement' following her sudden exit from the villa on Thursday night. The 25-year-old real estate videographer from West Lothian left the show with her partner Finley Maddock after a dramatic series of events.
Emotional Exit After Public Votes
During Thursday's episode (July 16), host Maya Jama gathered contestants around the fire pit to reveal the public votes for viewers' favourite girl and boy. Elicia and Jordon were dumped after receiving the fewest public votes, but the drama continued when contestants were forced to vote a boy and girl out of the remaining potentials. The bottom boys and girls included Martha, Mica, Jordan, Finley and Samraj.
After much conversation, Finley and Martha were ultimately voted out, sealing Ellie's fate. Despite saying she was 'at peace with going anyway', tears flowed as she made her exit.
Grateful Statement on Instagram
On Friday (July 17), Ellie took to Instagram with a carousel of Love Island snaps and a heartfelt statement. She wrote: 'Where do I even begin…What an unforgettable experience. I’ve been through every emotion possible, made memories that will stay with me forever, and I truly wouldn’t change a single second of it. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I’m so grateful I got to live every moment to the fullest.'
She added: 'Coming out of the villa and seeing all of your love and support has honestly been overwhelming in the best way. I can’t thank every single one of you enough for backing me from the very beginning. Your messages, kindness, and encouragement have filled my heart more than you know.'
Ellie concluded: 'I’m so excited for what’s next, and I can’t wait to take you all along with me on this next chapter. Thank you for everything. Love always, El x.'
Looking Ahead
The West Lothian native has held firm in her decision to leave, praising her time on the show as 'special'. Love Island continues tonight on ITV at 9pm.
