Craig Charles has pulled out of the We Are Wirral Festival less than 24 hours before the event was due to begin. The festival, which takes place at Birkenhead Park on July 18 and 19, announced the change on social media, stating that Charles had "unfortunately had to step aside" due to unforeseen circumstances.
Greg Wilson steps in as replacement
Organisers confirmed that Greg Wilson, a Wirral-raised DJ and producer, will take over the decks. In a statement, We Are Wirral said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Craig Charles has unfortunately had to step aside…but don’t worry, we’ve called in an absolute legend. Greg Wilson is taking over the decks, bringing the unmistakable energy that’s made him one of the UK’s most iconic DJs. Wirral, are you ready!" Wilson is celebrated for his pioneering role in the UK dance music scene.
