Coronation Street actress Cait Fitton has shared a poignant tribute to her late father on what would have been his birthday, revealing her ongoing heartbreak eight years after his passing.
Emotional Birthday Tribute
The ITV star, who plays Lauren Bolton on the long-running soap, took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, November 18 to post a touching childhood photograph showing her standing beside her father.
She accompanied the image with the heartfelt caption: "Happy heavenly birthday Dad, 8 years will have passed by this year <3 I'm sending you lots of love up there."
Coronation Street Success
Cait Fitton first joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2022, quickly becoming a fan favourite as teenager Lauren Bolton. Her character has been central to several major storylines during her three years on the cobbles.
Lauren's journey has included being raised by her far-right extremist father Reece Bolton, portrayed by Scott Anson, and the dramatic storyline where she killed her tormentor Joel Deering, played by Calum Lill.
The actress regularly engages with her 60,700 Instagram followers, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of life on the soap and personal moments from her daily life.
Celebrating Corrie Milestone
Earlier this month, Cait marked her third anniversary on Coronation Street with an emotional social media post celebrating her time on the show.
She shared a collection of images from her Corrie experience, including the traditional shot outside the Rovers Return pub, and wrote: "3 years playing the pocket rocket that is Lozza Bolton. Time flies when you really are having fun."
The actress expressed her gratitude to fans, writing: "Thank you everyone who has shown nothing but love towards Lauren over the past 3 years. I love playing a character that is so complex to play. I love her!"
She added: "I feel so proud and privileged to have been given the honour to play out such inspiring stories and raise such important issues throughout my time on the cobbles so far."
