Actress Chase Infiniti made a breathtaking appearance on the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the Series Mania Festival in Lille, France, this past Friday. The 25-year-old star, known for her role in The One Battle After Another, captivated onlookers while promoting her upcoming part in the highly anticipated Handmaid's Tale spin-off, The Testaments.
A Show-Stopping Ensemble
Chase stunned in a dramatic blue gown that perfectly highlighted her figure. The dress featured a ruched bodice with intricate ruffled detailing, which cinched her waist elegantly. Complementing this was a voluminous princess skirt that added a touch of regal flair to her look. To complete the ensemble, she accessorised with dainty gold jewellery and swept her hair into an effortless updo, accentuating her features with flawless makeup.
Series Mania: Europe's Premier TV Event
Series Mania is an international festival dedicated exclusively to television series, standing as the largest TV event in Europe. It serves as a pivotal platform for showcasing new shows and talent, making Chase's presence all the more significant for the promotion of The Testaments.
Insights into The Testaments
Earlier this month, fans were treated to the first trailer of The Testaments, offering a glimpse into its tense teenage spy plot. The series, first announced in 2019 while the original Handmaid's Tale—based on Margaret Atwood's 1985 novel—was still airing, picks up approximately 15 years after the events of the original show. The original series concluded dramatically last May, with Elisabeth Moss's character June returning to Gilead.
Plot and Characters
Set to premiere on Disney+ on April 8, The Testaments will launch with three episodes, followed by weekly releases. The coming-of-age story follows two young teens: Agnes, who is dutiful and pious, and Daisy, a new arrival from beyond Gilead's borders. Together, they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia's elite school for future wives. Their bond becomes a catalyst that disrupts their past, present, and future as they work to expose the secrets of the regime.
The series marks the return of Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia, joined by rising actress Chase Infiniti and newcomer Lucy Halliday. Additional cast members include Mabel Li, Amy Seimetz, Brad Alexander, Rowan Blanchard, Mattea Conforti, Zarrin Darnell-Martin, Eva Foote, Isolde Ardies, Shechinah Mpumlwana, Birva Pandya, and Kira Guloien.
First Look and Dialogue Teasers
A first look at the series introduces Chase as Agnes, who comes face-to-face with Daisy while navigating life at the school. In poignant voiceovers, Agnes reflects on her childhood, saying, "I'm not really sure what year it was, I know I still had my doll house, it looked just like our real house. Some dolls were always busy, others were always doing the important work, and there was a little girl doll, that's me." She adds, "Back then, we still believed in this world. I guess it's easier to believe in a story, then believe that the people around you are monsters."
Daisy, portrayed as determined and brave, is seen plotting against the Gilead regime, stating, "I have to save those girls," as she plugs in headphones. In a moment of solidarity, she tells Agnes, "There comes a time when you have to take action, when you have to choose your own destiny." These snippets hint at the emotional depth and suspense that will define the series.
