A new black comedy series, The Death of Bunny Munro, is set to premiere on Sky Atlantic on November 20, bringing Nick Cave's acclaimed 2009 novel to the screen with the singer himself serving as an executive producer.

Doctor Who star Matt Smith takes on the titular role of Bunny, a misogynistic salesman who embarks on a road trip through Sussex with his son following the tragic death of his wife. Filming for the highly anticipated series commenced in May 2024 and was completed by August 2024.
Exploring the Key Filming Locations
The production made its mark across several iconic seaside towns in Sussex, offering a visual feast for viewers.
In Worthing, Smith was photographed in June 2024 filming scenes inside a vintage car on the seafront alongside his young co-star, Rafael Mathé, who portrays Bunny Junior. This historic town is also known for its connections to literary giants Oscar Wilde and Harold Pinter.
Eastbourne hosted the crew in May 2024, with Matt Smith spotted rehearsing his lines while walking his dog, Bobby, along the promenade. The town's classic Victorian charm, embodied by its pier and bandstand, provides a stunning backdrop.
Further along the coast, Shoreham-by-Sea saw activity on its beach in May, with film crews setting up base on Old Ford Road, utilising the area's unique coastal and river scenery.
Brighton and Hove's Significant Role
The series holds a special connection to Brighton, which has been Nick Cave's home since the early 2000s. The city, famous for its pier and Royal Pavilion, has previously been featured in works about the artist. In the neighbouring town of Hove, filming took place in Richardson Road and Lawrence Road during May. Crews were seen creating a set that included a classic phone box and a bus stop, adding to the authentic British feel of the production.
With its compelling source material and striking Sussex landscapes, The Death of Bunny Munro promises to be a standout addition to Sky Atlantic's lineup this autumn.
