Former Disney star Alyson Stoner has candidly discussed her once-close friendship with Demi Lovato, describing their bond as both "inseparable" and emotionally complex during their time working together on Disney's Camp Rock.
In a recent interview, Stoner, now 30, reflected on the intensity of their connection, saying, "We were practically glued at the hip. There was this unspoken understanding between us, having both grown up in the industry."
The Highs and Lows of Young Fame
Stoner, who played the role of Caitlyn Gellar in the hit Disney Channel movie, revealed that she and Lovato leaned on each other during the pressures of early fame. "We were kids navigating this surreal world together," she shared. "There was a lot of laughter, but also moments of deep vulnerability."
A Friendship Tested by Time
While the two were initially inseparable, Stoner admitted that their friendship eventually drifted apart as their careers took different paths. "Life happens," she said philosophically. "We both had our own journeys, our own struggles."
Stoner, who has since transitioned into activism and mental health advocacy, spoke warmly about Lovato's growth over the years. "I'm proud of the woman Demi has become," she said. "Her resilience is inspiring."
The Legacy of Camp Rock
The actress also shared nostalgic memories of filming the 2008 musical, which launched both their careers. "Those were magical times," Stoner recalled. "The energy on set was electric - we all knew we were part of something special."
While she hasn't ruled out a potential reunion with Lovato, Stoner emphasized the importance of respecting each other's space. "Some connections transcend time," she mused. "The bond we formed will always be there in some form."
