Gemma Collins Abandons Dubai Relocation Plans Amid Regional Conflict

Reality television personality Gemma Collins has officially cancelled her intentions to move to Dubai, citing the ongoing war in the Middle East as a key factor. The 45-year-old star of The Only Way Is Essex has instead reaffirmed her commitment to remaining in the United Kingdom, expressing a deep affection for the British countryside and lifestyle.

Love for Britain Overrides Winter Weather Struggles

In a recent interview with New! magazine, Collins revealed that discussions about relocating to the United Arab Emirates primarily arose from her difficulties with the UK's winter climate. She openly discussed her battle with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), which often prompted thoughts of escaping to sunnier destinations like Dubai.

'My heart's in the UK. I love Britain. I love afternoon tea. I love driving into London and seeing Big Ben. No one's a bigger rep for the UK than me,' Collins declared emphatically. She elaborated that while she enjoys the luxury and warmth of Dubai, where she often wears caftans and indulges in the opulent atmosphere, her emotional ties to Britain are too strong to sever.

The celebrity added, 'I'd miss the UK too much but I do love spending time in Dubai. I mean it's very GC! I walk around in caftans all day, it's very luxurious. But then there's me. I love the English countryside and my heart is with the people of the UK so no I'm staying put.'

Geopolitical Tensions Influence Decision

Collins' decision comes against a backdrop of escalating military actions in the Middle East. Over a recent weekend, Iran launched retaliatory air strikes targeting the United Arab Emirates and other locations, following US-Israeli operations against Iran. These attacks caused significant damage in Dubai, a popular hub for influencers and expatriates.

While the exact timing of Collins' interview remains unspecified, the heightened regional instability appears to have solidified her choice to avoid relocation. Instead, she has embraced the tranquility of rural Britain, recently sharing her experiences in the Cotswolds.

Embracing Cotswolds Serenity

On Tuesday, Collins posted about her luxury stay in the Cotswolds, praising the area's calm ambiance and slow-paced mornings. She penned a poetic description on social media, stating: 'Cotswolds Life. There is something about Cotswolds life that feels like wrapping your soul in soft wool.'

Her message continued, highlighting the contrast between urban hustle and rural peace: 'You trade city noise for birdsong. You swap rush for rhythm. You learn that luxury is not always loud. Sometimes it is just peace. A country pub lunch after a long walk. Friends around a wooden table. Life here whispers rather than shouts. And when you live it, you realise… calm is the real glow up. Cotswolds life is not just a place. It is a feeling.'

Weight Loss Journey and Lifestyle Changes

In related news, Collins has been actively managing her health and wardrobe following a significant weight loss transformation. She has lost approximately three stone, dropping from a size 26 to a size 20, largely through the use of Mounjaro weight loss jabs.

After this reduction, Collins began selling her lightly worn clothing on the resale platform Vinted, advertising over 150 items ranging from £3 to £40. She promoted her page on Instagram, writing: 'Have you seen my Vinted!'

Her weight loss journey has not been without challenges. Collins recently disclosed that she experienced a gallbladder attack in August, which she initially feared was linked to Mounjaro. Medical professionals assured her otherwise, and she has since resumed microdosing the medication to minimize side effects.

'I had to stop the jabs for a bit because I had a gallbladder attack in August, but they've assured me that it's not actually linked to Mounjaro,' Collins explained to The Mirror. 'I've given it a rest and I've really been managing what I've been eating. But I think I'm going to start microdosing because I feel with the microdosing, you don't get all the [side] effects.'

Collins' history with weight management includes previous attempts such as taking appetite suppressant Reductil as a teenager and undergoing a gastric bypass surgery that left her in severe pain. She recalled, 'It was scary. I should never have done it... I thought I was going to die. I could not get out of bed. The pain in my stomach... because it was like a foreign body in my belly.'

Despite these past struggles, her current approach with Mounjaro has yielded noticeable results, and she continues to share updates with her followers, emphasizing a balanced perspective on health and well-being alongside her lifestyle choices.
