Jill Biden Enjoys Nantucket Shopping Spree with Grandchildren

Jill Biden spent Saturday afternoon on a shopping spree through downtown Nantucket, accompanied by a five-car motorcade and several grandchildren. The first lady visited stores along Main Street, including Pageo Jewelers, Nalu of Nantucket, and Polo Ralph Lauren, before finishing at a local florist.

Grandchildren Maisy, Hunter Jr., Natalie, and Naomi joined her at various stops, including the Italian shoe store Clorinda Antinori. The group also had a late lunch at Slip 14, a seafood restaurant on the Old Wharf.

Wearing a long black coat and a purple scarf, Biden greeted onlookers with 'Happy Thanksgiving' and posed for selfies. The outing was part of Small Business Saturday, a White House initiative to support local shops.

President Joe Biden did not join the shopping trip; he attended mass with son Hunter and other grandchildren later in the day. On Friday, the president had purchased Pokemon cards and children's books as Christmas gifts.

The first lady declined to comment on whether Americans can safely celebrate the holiday season amid the new Omicron variant of COVID-19, which the World Health Organization has labelled a 'variant of concern.'
