Celebrity Traitors viewers believe they have spotted a tell in Hannah Fry that could expose her as a Traitor. The mathematician and broadcaster was recruited by Traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster instead of being murdered, and managed to avoid suspicion at the last roundtable, which resulted in the banishment of Faithful Julie Hesmondhalgh.
Fans spot tongue-in-cheek clue
On Threads, Paul H wrote: 'Hannah Fry has a tell on Celebrity Traitors that I've not seen anyone pick up on. Just after she's lied, she sticks her tongue in her cheek or out of the side of her mouth, usually on the left. Literally, she's talking “tongue in cheek”!'
Paul shared screenshots as examples, adding: 'Hannah, sorry about the screenshots.' One image showed the professor at breakfast the morning after she was recruited, entering with Jerry Hall when everyone knew they were the only two vulnerable to murder the previous night. Another showed her placing her tongue in her left cheek while choosing her words carefully in the car on the way back from a challenge.
Viewers react to the tell
Mossy agreed: 'Ha ha, yeah my wife and I spotted that… probably to do with the edit but seems super obvious!' Lauren Cook added: 'Yes!!! Me and my husband also noticed this! I love Hannah but I'm worried she's going to get caught out!!'
James Waite pointed out: 'Boris Becker had the same tell when he served,' and suggested a reason it may seem so obvious that Hannah is a Traitor: 'Hannah is so intelligent she knows she's lying as she lies while trying to act like she isn't lying and her body rejects the whole thing.'
However, Hannah's decision not to follow the crowd on Friday's episode, when suspicion fell on those leading the charge against Julie, could help her stay in longer. GoonerGetGot wrote: 'Hannah pointing out to everyone that they have to stop looking at the obvious choices, which she is one of them, then not voting for Julie to stay true to her point, even if it made the odds of her going tonight higher. Absolutely masterful play.'
Celebrity Traitors continues at 8pm on Thursday on BBC One.
