Tom Welling, best known for playing Clark Kent in Smallville, accidentally shared a nude image on his Instagram Stories. The post, meant to showcase the New York City skyline ahead of his appearance at New York Comic Con, instead revealed his own naked reflection in the glass.
The since-deleted snap carried the caption 'Hello NYCC' and reportedly stayed up for 10 hours. Fans quickly noticed the reflection in the window, sparking a wave of reactions on social media.
Fan reactions to the accidental post
Users on X expressed shock, with one writing: 'NO WAY TOM WELLING ACCIDENTALLY POSTED HIS D**K ON HIS INSTAGRAM STORY.' Another said: 'Just going through Instagram stories at work and got flashbanged by tom welling posting a nude story.'
Some questioned how the actor missed the reflection before sharing it with his 2.2 million followers, while others noted the post remained visible for hours. A few fans admitted they couldn't make out the image clearly, with one suggesting: 'Y'all just looking at clouds and imagining shapes.'
Smallville's 25th anniversary
Welling joined his Smallville co-stars at NYCC for the show's 25th anniversary panel. The series, which ran for ten seasons, followed Clark Kent's journey in the titular town, featuring his early encounters with future nemesis Lex Luthor and a love triangle with Lana Lang and Lois Lane.
The show concluded in 2011, with Clark finally donning the iconic Superman suit. Welling briefly reprised the role in 2019 for the crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths.
All ten seasons of Smallville are currently streaming on Netflix and ITVX in the UK.
