BBC audiences have been left devastated after viewing the most recent episode of Celebrity Traitors, with growing concerns that one contestant could be unjustly eliminated after effectively signing their own departure.
Once more, Claudia Winkleman welcomed 21 recognisable personalities to the legendary Scottish castle earlier this month, including Ross Kemp, Bella Ramsey and Michael Sheen, in what has emerged as one of television's most discussed series.
Richard E Grant and Julie Hesmondhalgh eliminated
The programme has already made headlines when actor Richard E Grant became the first ever Traitor to be eliminated during the inaugural round table, with the most recent episode also witnessing Faithful Julie Hesmondhalgh saying her goodbyes after a brutal roundtable.
In what has developed into a nail-biting contest, though, with the Traitors engaging in manipulation and deception, audiences confessed they were devastated by last week's episode as they worry about one contestant's prospects on the programme.
James Blunt admits target on his back
It appeared James Blunt was successful in convincing his co-stars when voicing his suspicions on Julie, with even Miranda changing her vote last minute. Now though, despite being a Faithful, he admits there is a "target on his back", reports Wales Online.
Speaking to cameras, James himself acknowledged eyes will be on him now after spearheading the "charge against someone who was our own" as he revealed he felt "so stupid."
Taking to X, numerous viewers shared their thoughts, with some expressing concern. One viewer commented: "Sounds like James Blunt had a really big impact on the round table, bigger than the edit gave him credit for. Would've liked to see his full orchestration."
Another confessed: "Poor bloke hearing everyone being p***** off at him and going to sit all by himself after. I feel for him", while a third posted: "Yeah I feel sorry for him too, I don't want everyone ganging up on him. They should take accountability for their own actions."
A fourth remarked: "My heart broke for James Blunt at the end lol Definitely had that feeling of going into the lunch hall with people talking s*** about you and ten sitting by yourself."
A fifth responded: "My daughter actually cried! She just felt so bad for him when he went in the doorway and then just left and sat on his own."
Viewers speculate on next banishment
A sixth suggested it might have been down to the "editing" as one viewer speculated: "Most of the time when you see a Faithful do that they are gone within the next couple of episodes (sure that Hannah has some stats on that! )."
One Reddit user revealed they had "never wanted to hug someone more", while another wrote: "I thought Hannah had snatched defeat from the jaws of victory when she jumped in to defend Julie. Interesting tactic."
They continued: "It was also interesting to see the fallout. Despite being convinced that Hannah is a traitor, Miranda came out of the round table fuming at James Blunt for spearheading the Julie campaign."
"Could it be that they all turn on him before getting rid of Hannah? I mean a bunch of them voted for Jerry last time and dropped her completely this time."
Over on X, one viewer speculated the next person to face banishment might actually be James rather than Hannah, despite mounting suspicions, adding: "watch them banish James Blunt next instead of Hannah at this point lmao."
Celebrity Traitors continues on BBC One at 9pm on Thursday, October 15.
