Strictly Come Dancing viewers claimed to spot tension between judge Craig Revel Horwood and presenter Josh Widdicombe after an exchange during the third live show. The moment came after Dani Dyer's tango, when judge Anton Du Beke used his arms to demonstrate how she could improve her posture and movement.
Josh, who has received a lot of backlash since joining the show, mimicked the gestures as he turned to Craig for his thoughts on the performance. Craig appeared baffled, asking: "What are you doing, Josh? What's that about?" Josh, fellow presenter Emma Willis and Craig all chuckled, suggesting the exchange was taken in good spirits.
Viewers read the moment differently
But some viewers, who were particularly observant on Saturday night, read the moment differently. One wrote: "I get the feeling even Craig isn't impressed with Josh", reports Wales Online. Another claimed: "Josh is p****** Craig off." A third posted: "#Strictly Craig says: 'What are you doing, Josh?' I will just leave that there. #SCD #StrictlyComeDancing."
The exchange added to the debate over Strictly's new presenting trio of Emma, Josh and Johannes Radebe, with some viewers questioning Josh's role and others praising his growing confidence. One viewer asked: "Anyone else muting the presenters?" Another posted: "We need an intervention for Josh at this stage."
Mixed reactions to the presenting team
A further fan pleaded: "Please be quiet Josh, the jokes aren't joking." Some viewers have suggested the comedian might be better suited to Johannes' upstairs role, chatting with the celebrities after their performances.
However, other fans felt the presenting team looked more comfortable during Saturday's show. One wrote: "I'm enjoying the presenting tonight. Everyone seems so much more relaxed." Another said: "I will say this week Josh Widdicombe was better as he didn't look like he was the odd one out with Emma and Johannes."

One supporter added: "Controversial maybe, but I think the Strictly presenting line-up is great. Emma brings the professional broadcaster experience, Josh is a hilarious loose cannon and JoJo is great doing the after dance bit, I think he's a natural. Keep going guys." Josh previously described his Strictly experience as "joyous". Asked before the first live show about his favourite aspect of working with Emma and Johannes, he said: "That we feel like a team where there's no ego. That there's no one wanting to put themselves out front more than the others. That we feel like we've all got our different personalities and they gel together." He added: "Emma and Johannes are just so generous, sweet and funny - they make working on Strictly feel even more exciting and joyous to me."
