Strictly Come Dancing viewers have reacted to the leaked result of the second elimination of the 2026 series, with many saying the exit was expected. The result, broadcast on Sunday nights, is pre-recorded the day before, following the live episode. A source from the Strictly audience reportedly confirmed the spoiler on social media, though Express.co.uk has chosen not to name them.
Fans say result was no surprise
The exit comes a week after Chris Appleton became the first celebrity to leave this year's competition. Reacting online, one social media user wrote on X: "I expected that bottom 2 but thought the other outcome would happen." Another commented: "Correct result."
A third remarked: "It was the right decision." Another agreed: "Sadly not much of a surprise, was expecting this." A fifth shared: "Glad there was no shock tonight." Someone else echoed: "Not surprised by that one."
Leaderboard highlights
The battle for the Glitterball Trophy stepped up on Saturday night as the remaining 13 couples returned to the ballroom. Contestants performed routines including the salsa, samba, waltz and Cha Cha Cha in a bid to impress the judges and avoid next week's dance-off.
Australian singer Delta Goodrem topped the leaderboard with professional partner Kai Widdrington after their salsa earned 33 points, marking the second week running the pair had topped the board. Behind them were British and Olympic skeleton racer Tabby Stoecker and dance partner Mark Karmalita, who were awarded 31 points for their tango.
Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley received 25 for their jive, while YouTuber John Nellis and Katya Jones got 20 for their cha cha cha. Dame Sarah Storey and Julian Caillon, Melanie Walters and Aljaz Skorjanec, and Shaun Wright-Phillips alongside Alexis Warr were the three pairings at the bottom of the leaderboard.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 7.15pm on BBC One.
