Peter Andre Axed from Princess's Reality Show After Katie Price Backlash
Peter Andre steps back from Princess's ITV show

Family Drama Forces Show Shake-Up

In a significant shake-up for the upcoming seasons of The Princess Diaries, Princess Andre's father, Peter Andre, and his wife, Emily, have been removed from the ITV2 reality programme. This decision comes after substantial public criticism from Princess's mother, Katie Price, who was notably absent from the show's first series.

Insiders have revealed to the Daily Mail that the 18-year-old influencer made this choice following discussions with her pop star father, who is 52. Peter Andre and Emily, 36, mutually agreed to step back in an effort to quell the ongoing controversy and 'noise' surrounding his ex-wife's exclusion.

A Focus on Princess's Solo Journey

While Peter and Emily exit the screen, Princess's brother, Junior Andre, 20, will continue to feature in the show. The renewed series, which has been commissioned for a second and third run, is now expected to follow Princess more closely as she ventures abroad to explore new business opportunities. Filming will also capture her at home, where she is reportedly lined up for a 'big beauty gig' in Liverpool.

The first season of The Princess Diaries heavily featured Peter Andre, showing him supporting his daughter as she learned to drive and delivering a heartfelt speech at her 18th birthday party—an event from which Katie Price claimed she was deliberately barred.

The Root of the Conflict

The family tension erupted into public view last August when Katie Price, 47, openly criticised her deliberate exclusion from her daughter's debut reality series. She asserted that Peter Andre and his management team viewed her as 'trash' and expressed her deep frustration at being 'disrespected' and 'disregarded'.

On her podcast, the former glamour model lamented not being allowed to participate in any of Princess's professional endeavours, from photoshoots to public appearances. She argued that as Princess follows a path similar to her own famous career, she is the ideal person to guide her daughter.

In a sharp rebuttal, Peter Andre took to Instagram, disclosing for the first time that he had sole custody of Junior and Princess from 2018 until they reached adulthood. He cited their 'safety' as the primary reason, a decision he said was enforced by a legally binding family court order issued in 2019.

A source close to the production explained the current resolution: 'Pete and Emily will not feature in The Princess Diaries seasons two and three. It was discussed between him and Princess, and they decided as a family that it's better for the show to focus on Princess alone.' The insider added that the hope is for the forthcoming series to be 'all about Princess', allowing her to stand on her own two feet now that she is 18.
