HGTV personality Leslie Davis, famed for co-hosting Unsellable Houses, has publicly confirmed her divorce from her husband, Jacob, while simultaneously announcing her engagement to fellow network star, carpenter Don Reidy.
Private Split and Public Engagement
The reality TV star shared her happy news on Instagram this Wednesday, revealing she had accepted a proposal from Reidy. The announcement left many fans confused, as Davis had not previously disclosed the end of her marriage to Jacob, her high school sweetheart and father of her three sons: Kyler, Cash, and Cole.
To address the questions, Davis published a detailed blog post on Friday. She explained that she and Jacob privately separated in 2022. "With lots of changes, our priority was to always protect our family, which is why I have kept this part of my life private," she wrote on her website, Lamb & Co., adding humorously, "And seriously, who even announces a divorce anyway LOL!"
She praised her ex-husband as a "rockstar of a dad" and stated they had "learned to become the best teammates" in co-parenting their boys. Davis emphasised that Jacob chose to stay out of the public eye, and their split was made to "create a happy, loving, and stable home" for their family.
A New Love Born on Set
Davis first met her new fiancé, Don Reidy, in 2023 while filming an episode of HGTV's Rock the Block in Florida. The competitive show gathers stars from various HGTV series to renovate properties on the same street.
"Through the stressful days, endless hours, and lots of laughs in between, we became best friends and continued to stay in touch post-filming," Davis recalled. Despite Reidy living in Colorado and Davis being based in Snohomish, Washington, they began a long-distance relationship.
After a year of dating, Reidy relocated to Washington. He proposed this week during a snowmobile ride in Leavenworth, with Davis's sons present. On Instagram, she celebrated Reidy as "my safe place, my teammate, and my favorite adventure buddy."
Balancing Public Life and Family
Davis, who has co-hosted Unsellable Houses with her twin sister Lyndsay Lamb since 2019, acknowledged the difficulty of keeping her divorce private while living a public life. "I have chosen to keep this part of my personal life private, a hard thing to do as someone with a show on HGTV," she wrote.
She insisted that she and her ex-husband "will always share love for each other, just now in a new way," committed to supporting each other's new adventures while putting their children first. Reflecting on her new relationship, Davis wrote: "What started as a friendship during one of the wildest experiences of my life turned into true love. We were in it together then… and now we’re in it together forever."
