BBC audiences are convinced they know who will be banished at the next Celebrity Traitors round table, and it's not Hannah, who is newly recruited on team Traitors. Instead, many viewers believe the spotlight will fall on James Blunt, who faced backlash after spearheading the campaign against Faithful Julie Hesmondhalgh.
James Blunt's Role in Julie's Banishment
Earlier this month, Claudia Winkleman welcomed 21 well-known personalities to the renowned Scottish castle, with a star-studded cast including Ross Kemp, Bella Ramsey, and Michael Sheen. In what has emerged as one of television's most discussed series so far, history was already written when actor Richard E Grant became the first ever Traitor to face banishment at the inaugural round table, while the most recent episode also witnessed Faithful Julie Hesmondhalgh departing the castle.
Following Julie's banishment, Miranda confessed she was "so angry" she wrote Julie's name down, as James acknowledged: "I'm so sorry, and that's my fault." Speaking to cameras, James later admitted there was now a target on his head after spearheading the "charge against someone who was our own," as he said he felt "so stupid."
Viewer Reactions on Social Media
Taking to X, numerous viewers shared their thoughts, with some voicing concerns at the next roundtable. One person wrote: "Sounds like James Blunt had a really big impact on the round table, bigger than the edit gave him credit for. Would've liked to see his full orchestration."
Another confessed: "Poor bloke hearing everyone being p***** off at him and going to sit all by himself after. I feel for him", while a third commented: "Yeah I feel sorry for him too, I don't want everyone ganging up on him. They should take accountability for their own actions."
Predictions for the Next Roundtable
A fourth remarked: "My heart broke for James Blunt at the end lol Definitely had that feeling of going into the lunch hall with people talking s*** about you and ten sitting by yourself." A fifth responded: "My daughter actually cried! She just felt so bad for him when he went in the doorway and then just left and sat on his own."
A sixth suggested the "editing" could be responsible, with one person speculating: "Most of the time when you see a Faithful do that they are gone within the next couple of episodes (sure that Hannah has some stats on that! )." One Reddit user admitted they had "never wanted to hug someone more", while another wrote: "I thought Hannah had snatched defeat from the jaws of victory when she jumped in to defend Julie. Interesting tactic.
"It was also interesting to see the fallout. Despite being convinced that Hannah is a traitor, Miranda came out of the round table fuming at James Blunt for spearheading the Julie campaign. Could it be that they all turn on him before getting rid of Hannah? I mean a bunch of them voted for Jerry last time and dropped her completely this time."
Meanwhile, over on X, one viewer predicted that it could actually be James rather than Hannah facing the axe next, despite widespread suspicions, writing: "watch them banish James Blunt next instead of Hannah at this point lmao."
Celebrity Traitors continues on BBC One at 9pm on Thursday, October 15.
