Iliman Ndiaye responded to abuse from Liverpool supporters by shouting 'Up the Toffees' as he made his way into the tunnel at Anfield following Manchester City's 3-0 victory over the Reds.
The former Everton winger joined the Premier League leaders in the summer and started the match. City's win came amid a torrent of abuse from the home crowd, who branded the visitors 'cheat' after the club was found guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules over a nine-year period.
Banners and chants at Anfield
Anfield was adorned with banners making the same accusation, and the abuse continued as City players left the pitch after full-time. Ndiaye, who had looked to head back into the stadium to celebrate the win, could not resist poking his head back out towards the Liverpool supporters to remind them of his Everton affiliation.
