Coronation Street fans believe they have worked out when Jodie Ramsey will make her dramatic return to the cobbles, as she seemingly 'disappeared' following her recent shooting drama, just several months after her first appearance in Weatherfield.
Fans will recall that the character's first appearance in the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, came back in January during Corrie's epic crossover with Emmerdale, dubbed Corriedale, which featured a horror multi-vehicle pile-up between those from Weatherfield and the Dales. At first, her identity was unknown, as she was seen tied up in a van, driven by Emmerdale returnee Graham Foster. While not directly involved in the crash, Graham was stuck in the subsequent traffic chaos and, taking her chance, Jodie escaped.
Jodie's sinister plan exposed
Corrie cop DC Kit Green gave chase, leading to Jodie being injured and ending up in hospital, which is where she was revealed to be Shona Platt's long-lost sister as the pair came face-to-face after years apart. David ended up inviting Jodie to stay at No.8 Coronation Street after feeling sorry for her over Shona's frosty reception. But since then, Jodie has made it clear, to viewers at least, that she can't be trusted and was recently seen stepping up her plan to take over her older sister's life.
After months of manipulation, her sinister games came back to bite her during a dramatic showdown between Jodie and Shona. Having previously attempted to get in between Shona and her husband, last week, Corrie fans saw the dramatic moment when Jodie proved she would stop at nothing to steal her sister’s life as she went all out to seduce David, thinking she'd finally got Shona out of the picture. While Jodie was led to believe that David was interested, and that she'd finally got what she wanted, Jodie was crestfallen when she discovered he was playing along with Jodie's seduction while hiding his phone under a towel, allowing his wife to listen in before she interrupted them.
Shooting leaves Jodie wounded
As David and Shona confronted Jodie in No.8 Coronation Street, she struggled to worm her way out of her latest plan, especially after David pulled out her trinket box. Backed into a corner, Jodie pulled out a gun, but Shona and David seemed unbothered as she'd previously convinced them the weapon she had was fake. Tackling her sister head-on, a scuffle broke out, and Shona ended up pulling the trigger, and a gunshot rang out. It was soon clear that Jodie had been shot, as she clutched her stomach and fell back onto the sofa, bleeding from a gunshot wound.
During Friday's (October 9) follow-up episode of the long-running show, a panic-stricken Shona tried to help Jodie, while David phoned the emergency services. When asked if the patient was hurt, David lied and said that they'd heard the gunshot and ran in to find Jodie alone. Later, as she came round, Jodie discovered that the family hadn't told the police that she was the one who owned the firearm in the first place, and she was soon using their lies to her advantage. While Jodie hinted at her plans at the end of the episode, as Lisa Connor-Swain came to interview her.
Fans predict her return
As Sunday's (October 11) episode aired, David and Shona were seen being dragged to the station by Lisa for questioning. They stuck to their false story, despite the blackmail threats from Jodie, and while David was keen to see the back of his sister-in-law, Shona was guilt-ridden and decided she still wanted her younger sister to stay in her life and stay at No.8. However, when Shona headed back to the hospital to speak to Jodie, she was gone, and it was a nurse who let her know that the patient had discharged herself.
But Corrie fans are pretty sure that won't be the last they see of Jodie, and think they have rumbled when she'll make her big return to Weatherfield. @pinaatti_ said: "Jodie has discharged herself unbeknownst to anyone. She is not mentioned in the spoilers for the rest of the week and is not in the cast list for w/c 19th. Could it be that she's off screen for quite a while now, maybe even luring Lily into hiding at some point, and the story blows up around Christmas?" @Laceyjay99 replied: "I noticed this lol I’m guessing back for Halloween." @DrSwarla2025 commented: "So Jodie has done a disappearing act she’ll be off our screens for a few weeks and then be back with a bang I expect. #corrie." @Audz32129841 suggested: "So how long do we think it will take for Jodie to be forgiven and welcomed back into the Platt household with her new personality change #Corrie." @RyanSoapKing25 added: "Jodie has gone AWOL.
