Coronation Street fans have made a clear prediction about Bethany Platt's future after she was stunned to learn that Kit Green is battling cancer, as he finally came clean about his diagnosis.
Those who follow the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, know that the detective, who arrived in Weatherfield in 2024 after Bernie Winter went searching for her long-lost son, was recently diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, which has spread to his lymph nodes, in a new health storyline.
Keeping the news a secret, in scenes aired last month, doctors confirmed Kit's course of treatment, and he was sent away with letters to give his family about the familial BRCA gene, which also came to light following the death of Bernie's aunt, Celeste.
Kit's secret confession to Bernie
As Bernie was already undergoing testing, Kit kept quiet. However, he eventually told her the truth in emotional scenes. He dropped the bombshell when she continued to remain positive about her results, with him telling her that he knew she had the gene, as he had been tested.
Kit ended up apologising to Bernie for not telling her sooner, and Bernie vowed that they were all in it together. Kit then later bluntly delivered the news to the rest of his family, including son Brody Michaelis, but it was only last week that Kit shared the news at work, after leaving Lisa Connor-Swain at her wits' end at the station.
Bethany learns the truth
It was then, during Sunday's (October 11) edition of Corrie, that Kit was forced to share the news again, this time to Bethany Platt. She was seen pushing Kit to help her mum, and his former partner, Sarah Platt, as she prepared to face trial for the murder of Theo Silverton.
When Sarah asked Kit to act as a character reference for her, he refused, and even speaking to him face-to-face didn't change his mind. Bethany spoke to him later, trying to persuade him to reconsider after an emotional phone call from her mum. He continued to refuse, and as Bethany struggled to understand his stance, Kit finally revealed he has cancer and is about to start chemotherapy.
Fans make pregnancy prediction
Responding to the scenes, Corrie fans felt for Kit, and some were left making a major prediction, knowing that Bethany recently slept with the detective during her mum's imprisonment.
