Cat Burns Reveals Real Reason for Celebrity Traitors Finale Banishment
Cat Burns: Why I Was Voted Off Celebrity Traitors

Singer Cat Burns, a finalist on the celebrity edition of BBC One's The Traitors, has opened up about the 'real reason' she believes she was banished just before the end, costing her the win. The BRIT Award-nominated star was the last contestant eliminated in the tense finale that aired on Thursday night, leaving comedian Alan Carr to be crowned the winner and claim the £87,000 prize for his charity.

The Final Table Gamble

Appearing on BBC Breakfast the following day, the 25-year-old singer confessed that her status as the sole remaining woman in the game ultimately sealed her fate. She theorised that if Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway had not been banished earlier, the outcome might have been different.

Cat explained her reasoning, stating: 'In hindsight, I think if we didn’t banish Kate before, I probably would have had a chance as there would have been two women left. Then they could have been like, "Is it Cat, is it Kate?" Because Kate was gone, I was the last one left so then they were like: "It has to be her".'

Fan Theories and On-Screen Suspicion

This revelation aligns with fan theories that speculated the Faithful contestants would expect at least one female star to have been chosen as a Traitor by host Claudia Winkleman. However, the televised arguments made by her fellow finalists—Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed, and David Olusoga—focused on her gameplay rather than her gender, citing her closeness to other Faithfuls and potential 'double bluff' strategies.

Despite her pivotal role in the series, Cat admitted during her interview that she had little time to watch the episodes as they aired due to the release of her new album, 'How To Be Human'.

Post-Show Reactions and Social Media Buzz

Clearly, the star has since caught up on the action. She later took to social media, sharing a video of herself lip-syncing to a viral clip from America's Next Top Model with the caption: 'Me shouting at my TV watching Nick banish Joe. LEARN SOMETHING FROM THIS!!!!!!'

This reaction was directed at the dramatic moment after her own banishment, when the remaining Faithfuls—Alan, Nick, and David—turned on former rugby star Joe, blindsiding him and voting him out. This move came despite Joe's earlier attempts to convince Nick and David to vote out both Cat and Alan.

The first celebrity series of The Traitors concluded with Alan Carr, who was initially seen as an unlikely Traitor due to his nervous demeanour, successfully deceiving everyone until the very end. Celebrity Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
