Kate Major, the stepmother of Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan, has been arrested in Harris County, Texas, on charges of assaulting a family member with a previous conviction. The alleged victim is her ex-husband, Michael Lohan, who is the father of the Mean Girls star.
Details of the Arrest and Allegations
According to court documents, Kate Major, aged 42, was taken into custody on April 14th after being accused of attacking Michael Lohan. Her bond was set at $35,000, and she is scheduled for arraignment on April 16th. A source reported to TMZ that the incident occurred when Michael, 65, visited her Texas home to exchange their two children, Landon, 13, and Logan, 10.
The source claimed that Kate was intoxicated during the altercation, allegedly punching Michael in the face, causing a bloody nose, and throwing a steak knife at him, which bounced off his chest without injury. At her bond hearing, the judge ordered her to have no contact with Michael and to undergo alcohol testing.
Background of the Turbulent Relationship
Michael Lohan and Kate Major were married in 2014 but separated just a year later. In April 2025, Michael was sentenced to nine months in prison for violating his parole by allegedly assaulting Kate. He had been on parole after pleading guilty to five counts of patient brokering in Florida in 2022, related to referrals to a rehabilitation facility.
Michael was released early in October 2025. Prior to his release, Kate filed domestic abuse charges against him, but these were dismissed by the district attorney. Additionally, Michael had previously been arrested in 2020 for allegedly choking Kate, which he denied, claiming she made the report in retaliation after he called police about her drink-driving. At that time, Kate was arrested for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.24, well above the legal limit of 0.08.
