Westlife's Mark Feehily is reportedly 'OK' despite not joining the band's 25th anniversary tour this year. The 45-year-old singer stepped back from the group in February 2024 after a series of health battles, including sepsis, pneumonia, and a hernia operation.
Bandmates Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, and Kian Egan appeared on BBC Breakfast on Monday (11.05.26) to offer a reassuring update. Shane said: 'He's ok, he's taking a step back at the moment. He's on the new music, which is great; he's on Chariot, obviously, as well, but no, not with us on this one. He's good and he sends his love to everybody and to all the fans too.'
Mark had previously detailed his health challenges in a social media post, explaining that his ordeal began in August 2020 with surgery that led to severe sepsis, requiring emergency surgery and months in hospital. He later developed pneumonia in late 2021 and an incisional hernia in 2022, requiring further surgeries.
In December, Mark admitted he was not yet strong enough for a world tour, saying: 'My body and my mind need time.' He will instead participate in a radio show for Ireland's RTE Radio, noting that sitting in a chair is a different physical and mental demand from a massive tour.
