Victoria Beckham has offered a rare glimpse into her private daily life, revealing the structured routine she follows at home with her family. The 52-year-old fashion designer appeared on Emma Grede's Aspire podcast to discuss her business empire and gave an intimate look at life in the Beckham household.
A Typical Day in the Beckham Home
Victoria disclosed that her day begins by preparing breakfast for her 15-year-old daughter, Harper, while her husband David is not a morning person. She humorously noted that Harper compares David to the character Anger from the film Inside Out, describing him as grumpy, while she sees herself as Joy.
After breakfast, David handles the school run, allowing Victoria to head to the gym. She explained: 'I go down to the gym. I do about a 45-minute workout. I lift weights for 45 minutes before David turns up. He then turns up and we do an hour together.' When Emma expressed surprise at the lengthy workout, Victoria replied: 'Rather than focus on what I do, let's look at David as the part-timer in the gym. We work out together.'
Work and Family Balance
Following her exercise regime, Victoria walks to her office, located just 10 minutes from their London townhouse. She works five days a week, stating: 'I have an incredible team of people. I have an atelier and that's where I go five days a week.' She also spends time in New York for her beauty business and in Paris for fashion.
Despite her busy schedule, Victoria prioritises family time. 'Communication is key. 6pm at night, every night, we always eat dinner together. We are quite a traditional family, more than people would recognise. Without even saying it, we're not on our phones. We're all just talking about what's happened during the day, being very close is really important to us,' she said.
Harper's Beauty Brand Inspired by Acne Struggles
In the same interview, Victoria revealed that Harper's battle with severe acne inspired her to launch her own beauty brand. The teen is set to debut a skincare line aimed at Gen Z and Gen Alpha, influenced by South Korean cosmetics, this summer.
Victoria explained: 'She came to me two or three years ago and she was really struggling with her skin. She used to have beautiful skin, but like all young girls she was enticed by beauty brands and she was putting a lot of product on her face that was not suitable for her skin and consequently ended up going to see a dermatologist because her skin was really, really bad.'
Recalling her own acne battles, Victoria said Harper told her: 'I want to create a brand because I know what I want and I don't want other people to have to go through what I have been through.' The ambitious teen even created PowerPoint presentations to pitch her ideas, including one for the beauty line and another to convince her mother to allow her to get a perm.
Victoria expressed pride in her children, especially Harper: 'I'm so proud of all my children, but you know Harper is very ambitious, she's very appropriate but I don't know what I expected to be honest. I mean, she's been sitting on my lap taking part in beauty development meetings ever since she was little.'
The Beckhams have long protected their children's names, with Victoria trademarking Harper's name for use in products like make-up, toys, and clothing when she was just five years old. At the time, an intellectual property expert called it unprecedented to trademark a child's name, as the move is usually reserved for established celebrities.
