Spice Girls 2026 Tour: Mel C 'Optimistic' for 30th Anniversary Reunion
Spice Girls 2026 Tour: Mel C 'Optimistic' for Reunion

Fans of the iconic Spice Girls have been given their strongest hint yet that the beloved girl group could be reuniting for a major world tour in 2026. The exciting prospect was teased by Melanie Chisholm, better known as Sporty Spice, during a recent television appearance.

Mel C's Hopeful Update

Speaking on Good Morning America to promote her new solo album Sweat, Mel C addressed the burning question on every fan's mind: will the Spice Girls get back together for their thirtieth anniversary? "I remain optimistic," she declared. "It's our thirtieth anniversary next year."

She reflected on the band's successful 2019 stadium tour in the UK, describing it as "incredible" and expressed pride in the group's enduring legacy. Mel C noted that new generations are discovering and loving the Spice Girls, fuelling her desire to return to the stage with her bandmates. "We're talking and we're seeing what opportunities are out there," she confirmed, while also explaining the group's cautious approach. "The thing that stops us is we feel so precious about it, we want to make sure it's the right thing and agree on the right thing."

Victoria Beckham's Tantalising Tease

This wave of optimism follows a suggestive social media post from Victoria Beckham in September. The fashion designer, who hasn't performed with the group since the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony, hinted at a reunion while watching Oasis at Wembley.

Victoria shared a clip of her husband, David Beckham, enjoying the concert and tagged her former bandmates—Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, and Melanie C—with a single, telling caption: "Tempting…" This post sent fans into a frenzy, speculating that Posh Spice might be more open to a return than previously thought.

The Road to a 2026 Reunion

Reports as early as April had already suggested that Mel C, Geri, Emma, and Mel B were considering a world tour for 2026. While Victoria sat out the 2019 reunion, she continues to earn royalties from the band's chart-topping back catalogue.

The bond between the five women remains strong. Just last month, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Melanie C, and Emma Bunton showed their support by attending the premiere of Victoria's Netflix documentary. Furthermore, all five original Spice Girls were famously reunited at Victoria's 50th birthday party last year, where they treated guests to an impromptu performance of their hit Stop, captured on camera by David Beckham.

A 2026 world tour would undoubtedly be a colossal financial success, netting the group millions of pounds. Similar to the recent Oasis reunion buzz, it could also open the door to further riches from spin-off documentaries and merchandise, cementing the Spice Girls' legacy for years to come.
