Professor Green Unmasked as Tea Bag on The Masked Singer UK
Professor Green revealed as Tea Bag on The Masked Singer

The latest series of ITV's hit guessing game, The Masked Singer, delivered a major shock in its second episode, unmasking a chart-topping music star far earlier than many anticipated.

A Legendary Rapper Behind the Bag

During the Sunday night broadcast on 4th January 2026, the eccentric character Tea Bag was sent home after just one performance. Following a rendition of 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' by Deep Blue Something, Tea Bag found themselves in the bottom two alongside Yak. When the judging panel opted to save Yak, the moment of revelation arrived.

To the astonishment of viewers and panelists alike, the person inside the elaborate Tea Bag costume was revealed to be none other than Professor Green. The legendary rapper, known for selling millions of albums and collaborating with stars like Emeli Sandé and Lily Allen, confessed the experience had been "quite scary."

Speaking to host Joel Dommett after the unmasking, Professor Green said, "I can’t believe it, well I can believe it, but I can’t believe it. I thought people would have enjoyed the Tea-Bag."

Second Star to Leave the Competition

Professor Green's early exit marks the second celebrity to be unmasked in the show's seventh series. In the premiere episode, The One Show presenter Alex Jones was revealed as the Disc Jockey.

Jones, who performed Chappell Roan's 'Pink Pony Club', dedicated her bizarre experience to her children, Teddy, Kit, and Annie. She expressed hope that her performance would inspire them, stating, "I want them to know that overcoming fear is a good thing. I am not a singer but I gave it a go."

Who Remains in the Running?

The competition continues with a host of new and returning characters. Following Sunday's episode, the remaining celebrities still battling to keep their identities secret under the costumes include:

  • Gargoyle
  • Red Panda
  • Can of Worms
  • Moth
  • Sloth
  • Monkey Business
  • Toastie
  • Yak
  • Arctic Fox
  • Conkers

The series had already seen singer Anne-Marie unmasked as Goldfish in a unique group performance during the launch episode, where she sang as part of 'No Trout'.

The Masked Singer continues on ITV1 and ITVX, airing at 6.30pm.
