Receiving an unexpected compliment on your outfit or fragrance provides a significant confidence boost, a feeling I have experienced regularly since adopting Floral Street's latest collaboration with Netflix's Bridgerton series. This Enchanted Masquerade eau de parfum has become my most inquired-about scent in recent memory, consistently drawing positive remarks.
Floral Street's Bridgerton Collaboration
Launched in late January to coincide with Bridgerton season four, part one, the fragrance aims to embody the modern fairytale essence of the show. Specifically, it captures the magical first meeting between characters Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek at a masquerade ball, foreshadowing their romantic journey. As a longtime enthusiast of Floral Street fragrances, including Stacey Solomon's beloved Peony Wonderland, I naturally lean toward botanical and fruity compositions over smoky or powdery alternatives.
Aromatic Profile and Experience
Upon initial application, the scent presents as light, refreshing, and aromatic, offering an uplifting and crisp sensation. The fragrance unfolds with notes of pear, mandarin, and gardenia, gradually revealing delicate sweet and nutty accents of hazelnut and vanilla. Its floral character feels warm rather than brightly powdery, enhanced by jasmine petals, patchouli, and rose absolute that linger on the skin.
These vibrant, romantic floral notes, which avoid excessive sweetness, blend seamlessly with gently spicy pink pepper extract and musks, making it an excellent choice for evening wear. However, I have found it versatile enough for daytime use as well. The bottle design is equally captivating, featuring a purple flower pattern visible through transparent glass, with a mask stencil and crown base nodding to its Bridgerton inspiration.
Creator's Vision and Reception
French perfumer Jérôme Epinette, known for creations like Sol de Janeiro's Cheirosa 71 and Rare Beauty's signature fragrance, crafted Enchanted Masquerade. He aimed to encapsulate a magical evening filled with unexpected joy and allure, combining playful elegance with vibrant fruity notes and soft romantic florals. The warm, cocooning base of vanilla and musks intends to create a comforting, sensual aura that lingers like a whisper.
This feminine fragrance is not overpowering, leading friends to request spritzes during outings after noticing its pleasant aroma. My husband also appreciates it whenever I wear it. A notable moment occurred in a restroom, where a passerby spontaneously praised the scent, highlighting its appeal.
Practical Considerations
The primary drawback is its longevity; while it remains noticeable for several hours, especially in the first two, I found myself wanting to reapply after about five to six hours. Fortunately, the compact bottle fits easily into a handbag without occupying much space, making touch-ups convenient and requiring minimal sprays to refresh the fragrance.
