Pip Edwards turns heads at 2025 ARIA Awards

The 2025 ARIA Awards in Sydney witnessed an unexpected fashion moment that left the Australian music industry buzzing. Pip Edwards, the founder of activewear label P.E Nation, made a surprising and style-forward appearance at the Hordern Pavilion, prompting onlookers to do a double-take.

A Surprise Entrance

Not a regular fixture in the alternative Aussie music scene, the shrewd businesswoman's presence had many speculating about a potential career pivot. The 45-year-old fashionista commanded attention in a form-fitting black mini dress adorned with a dramatic, large frill. She elevated the rock-chic ensemble with oversized earrings, classic cat-eye sunglasses, and a studded handbag.

Pip's glamorous makeup was complemented by her long hair tied back. Showing off her toned and tanned legs, she completed the striking look with a pair of colourful, chunky clogs, proving her fashion credentials extend far beyond the gym.

Music's Biggest Night

The event itself was a veritable who's who of the Australian music industry, celebrating another year of outstanding talent. The night belonged to newcomer Ninajirachi, who delivered a stunning performance by securing a remarkable eight nominations. The self-taught producer, just 26 years old, saw her debut album I Love My Computer recognised in top categories including Album of the Year and Best Solo Artist.

The competition for Album of the Year was fierce, featuring acclaimed works from Thelma Plum (I'm Sorry, Now Say It Back), RÜFÜS DU SOL (Inhale / Exhale), Missy Higgins (The Second Act), and Amyl and The Sniffers (Cartoon Darkness).

Star-Studded Nominees

The battle for Best Solo Artist showcased the diversity of Australian music, with a list of nominees including pop icon Kylie Minogue, indie favourite Mallrat, global superstar The Kid LAROI, renowned DJs Young Franco and Dom Dolla, and Aboriginal singer Thelma Plum.

In a personal highlight, Abbie Chatfield's boyfriend, Keli Holiday (real name Adam Hyde, also of Peking Duk), earned a nomination for Best Video for his track Dancing2, a song written about the TV personality.

Other key categories saw intense competition. The shortlist for Best Group included Amyl and The Sniffers, Folk Bitch Trio, Hilltop Hoods, Royel Otis, and RÜFÜS DU SOL. Meanwhile, the coveted Song of the Year award featured instantly recognisable hits like Dean Lewis's With You, The Kid LAROI's Girls, Dom Dolla and Daya's Dreamin, and Royel Otis's Linger.
