Noel Gallagher Wants Oasis to Write Next Bond Song & Play a Villain
Noel Gallagher eyes Oasis Bond song and villain role

Noel Gallagher has thrown his and Oasis's hat into the ring for one of cinema's most coveted musical gigs: the next James Bond theme tune. The legendary guitarist also revealed a personal ambition to appear on screen in the iconic spy franchise.

An Honour for a Brit

Speaking on TalkSport with Andy Goldstein, the 58-year-old rocker was asked how he would respond if Bond producer Barbara Broccoli called him with an offer. Gallagher stated he would tell her "all right Babs" and that for Oasis to do it would be "an absolute honour." He firmly believes such a cultural milestone should be the work of British artists, quipping, "you know, not Yanks."

Gallagher was quick to clarify that, despite speculation placing Oasis at the top of Amazon's wishlist, no official approach has been made. The comments come just weeks after Gallagher wrapped up the massively successful Oasis Live 25 reunion world tour with his brother Liam and their bandmates, nearly 15 years after the band's infamous split.

From Music to Movies: A Mancunian Villain

Beyond the music, Noel Gallagher expressed a keen interest in a acting role within the 007 universe. He joked that he would be up for playing a "Mancunian villain" in the upcoming film. This isn't the first time the musician has shown interest in the Bond franchise; he has previously claimed to have written a couple of potential theme tunes himself, noting one in particular sounded like a "f***ing great Bond theme."

The Future of 007

The next chapter for the Bond series remains shrouded in mystery. The franchise has yet to announce who will succeed Daniel Craig as the new 007, or who will provide the all-important theme song. Recent years have seen the role go to British superstars like Adele with 'Skyfall' and Billie Eilish with 'No Time To Die'.

In a significant shift for the series, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have handed creative control to Amazon MGM Studios as part of a major deal, though they remain co-owners. It was announced in August that British screenwriter Steven Knight, 65, will pen the script for the next instalment.

Whether or not the call from Broccoli comes, Gallagher's enthusiasm adds a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing speculation surrounding the next era of James Bond.
