Molly-Mae Hague Implements Safeguards as Tommy Fury Books Fight Near Due Date
Molly-Mae Hague has reportedly established protective measures as she prepares for childbirth, following her boyfriend Tommy Fury's decision to schedule a significant boxing match for the day after her due date. The Love Island celebrities, both aged 26, are parents to three-year-old daughter Bambi and rekindled their relationship last year, with their second child expected on June 12.
Family Concerns Over History Repeating
However, family members have expressed apprehension that past patterns may recur after Tommy revealed plans to fight retired strongman Eddie Hall at Manchester's AO Arena on June 13. This marks the boxer's first bout in over a year, with recovery potentially lasting up to six months depending on injuries sustained.
The situation echoes previous events, as Molly-Mae was induced during her last pregnancy to ensure Tommy could attend Bambi's birth in January 2023, prior to his fight with Jake Paul. Tommy then departed for Saudi Arabia to prepare for the February 26 clash, leaving Molly-Mae to parent alone for the first four weeks of their daughter's life.
Traumatic Previous Experience
The Maebe founder previously admitted feeling traumatised from navigating her initial month of motherhood solo, telling fans she did not sleep for a week after giving birth and experienced a breakdown. Aged just 23 at the time, she candidly described the period as going through hell and back, stating that Tommy's eventual return home felt almost better than Bambi's birth day.
With Tommy once again entering the ring around their child's birth, Molly-Mae is reportedly determined to avoid a similar experience this time. Her family are said to be disappointed that nothing appears to have changed, despite the couple reconciling in May after calling off their engagement in August 2024.
Family Disapproval and Support
Insiders indicate that sister Zoe is particularly unimpressed with Tommy's decision, having previously moved in to assist after Bambi's birth and never concealing her disapproval of the boxer. A source revealed that while everyone hopes for an easier experience this time, Molly-Mae knows she can manage alone, though her parents would prefer a conventional relationship with paternity leave.
Molly-Mae's representative declined to comment when approached by media outlets. Fans have also criticised Tommy for scheduling his fight so close to the due date, with one noting the stress it may cause for both mother and baby, while others recalled how openly she discussed the difficulties of newborn life without him present.
Public Support and Personal Struggles
Molly-Mae publicly showed support for the fight by commenting on Tommy's Instagram announcement, but she has previously described feeling like her life was over after Bambi's birth and experiencing really low lows in the initial weeks. She relied entirely on family support during Tommy's absence and became really unwell, suffering from severe constipation that she described as harder than labour.
In a YouTube vlog, Molly-Mae reflected on feeling traumatised by those early weeks, pushing people away and having no idea what she was doing. Tommy has addressed his decision, stating that while he has a job, he loves his family too, as preparations continue for the upcoming bout.
