Investigation Details

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that no arrests were made immediately following the crash, though the collision remains under active investigation. Preliminary reports indicate that a white sedan allegedly ran a red light before striking Spelling's vehicle from behind.

Interestingly, the white sedan sustained significantly more damage to its front end than Spelling's SUV did to its rear. Witnesses and authorities have noted that Spelling demonstrated impressive driving skills during the incident, expertly maneuvering her vehicle to minimize what could have been a much more severe impact.

Family Recovery and Activities

Eyewitness footage from the scene captured Spelling with her 13-year-old son Finn, her 19-year-old son Liam McDermott, and Liam's girlfriend Silvana de Luca. The family appears to be bouncing back quickly from the traumatic event.

Just two days after the accident, on Saturday night, Silvana de Luca shared an Instagram story showing the group enjoying a teppanyaki meal outdoors. The gathering included Spelling's 17-year-old daughter Stella, indicating the family is already returning to normal activities.

Social Media Activity

Spelling, who serves as a brand ambassador for ZORYVE and boasts 4.1 million social media followers, posted and subsequently deleted a Facebook throwback photo of herself with actress Alicia Silverstone on Sunday. The post attracted numerous concerned comments from followers inquiring about the car crash and the family's wellbeing.

Family Background and Dynamics

The actress shares five children with her second ex-husband Dean McDermott, including 14-year-old daughter Hattie and 9-year-old son Beau. Their 17-year marriage officially ended in 2023, with divorce finalized on November 10th.

In a recent interview with People magazine on March 26th, Spelling discussed her unconventional approach to parenting adult children. She expressed her desire for her children to remain living with her even after they turn 18, calling the expectation for children to move out at that age "archaic."

"I want to bring it back like old school and other countries," Spelling explained. "I cook a lot and I love my kids. Liam has a girlfriend. Stella has some boyfriend. They become family. I'm the house [that's] like, 'Everyone come over. Let me feed you.' So I'm like, 'You don't have to move out. Save money. Don't move out.'"

Co-Parenting and Future Plans

Spelling and McDermott originally met in 2005 on the set of Lifetime's Mind Over Murder when both were married to other people. Despite their divorce, Spelling reports they maintain an excellent co-parenting relationship.

"We are great at co-parenting," Spelling stated. "And we're a family. It's just a different version of a family now and we'll always be family...So it's really great for the kids, and I'm the lucky...We're the lucky ones. We got good ex-partners."

The actress and podcast host currently has no plans to date, focusing instead on building what she calls the "second chapter" of her career "empire" and taking her professional life "to the next level."

Professionally, Spelling will next appear as a fortune teller in Jed Shepherd's interactive horror video game Ghosts, scheduled for release later this year by Visible Games and Limited Run Games.
