Miley Cyrus Shares Update on Dolly Parton's Health Amid Postponed Vegas Shows
Miley Cyrus Gives Update on Godmother Dolly Parton's Health

Miley Cyrus has offered a reassuring update on the health of her godmother, music legend Dolly Parton, following a series of concerning reports about the singer's wellbeing. The 33-year-old 'Flowers' hitmaker spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Monday at the Los Angeles premiere of 'Avatar: Fire and Ash'.

Parton's Health Challenges and Postponed Plans

Dolly Parton was forced to postpone her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, originally scheduled to begin this month, to September 2026. She cited unspecified 'health challenges' as the reason for the delay in a statement released back in September. The iconic '9 to 5' singer revealed doctors had advised her to undergo 'a few procedures'.

Concern among her global fanbase intensified in October when Parton's sister, Freida, publicly asked for 'prayers' for the country music star. Another sister, Stella, later clarified on social media platform X that Dolly had been battling kidney stones and was receiving treatment. Stella urged respect for the family's privacy, stating Dolly would share news on her own terms.

"The Show Must Go On": Cyrus's Positive Outlook

When asked about her godmother's condition, Miley Cyrus struck an optimistic note. 'She's always gonna keep the show going,' Cyrus declared at the film screening. 'The show must go on. She's just excited to get back to work.'

This sentiment aligns with recent reports from Caesars Palace. The president of the venue, Sean McBurney, confirmed to Daily Mail last week that Parton is 'doing well' and that her 2026 shows are still firmly scheduled. He expressed that his team is 'very excited for Dolly.'

Parton's Own Reassurances to Fans

Dolly Parton herself has been proactive in calming worries about her health. In a video message posted in October, she humorously captioned the clip, 'I ain't dead yet!' In the video, she questioned, 'Do I look sick to you?' and emphasised, 'I'm not dying!'

She admitted to not taking proper care of herself following the death of her husband, Carl Dean, in March of this year. However, she firmly told her fans, 'I ain't done yet – I don't think God is through with me, and I ain't done workin'.' Despite her health break, Parton has continued to make virtual appearances, including accepting an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards.

The news of Miley Cyrus's update comes amid her own personal milestone. The singer is now engaged to her boyfriend of four years, drummer Maxx Morando. The couple attended the Avatar premiere together, where Cyrus showcased a custom cushion-cut diamond ring from designer Jacquie Aiche.
