Casey Burgess, the 37-year-old former Hi-5 star, has become a mother for the second time. On Monday, she took to Instagram to share the joyous news with her 36,000 followers.
Announcement and Photos
Burgess posted a sweet carousel of images documenting the milestone moment. One photo showed her cherubic son sleeping soundly, while a black-and-white image captured the baby nestling on her chest as her husband, Matt Meffan, lovingly kissed his wife. A third image featured Burgess positively glowing as she bonded peacefully with her newborn.
Baby's Name
Captioning the heartwarming images, Burgess revealed the baby's unique name: 'Ace. We are obsessed with you little one,' she wrote, adding blue love heart emojis.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of well-wishes and congratulations. Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac commented, 'You beauty! Welcome Ace! Congratulations team.' Journalist Melissa Hoyer added, 'Oh my! Ace is ace! Congratulations beautiful one - what a family.' Former Wiggles managing director Anthony Field wrote, 'Congratulations!! What a little treasure.' Another follower summed up the sentiment: 'Oh wow and just like that beautiful Ace has arrived!!! Welcome to the world, Ace, and congratulations Casey and Matt, such wonderful news.'
Family Background
Casey and Matt welcomed their first child, Billy James Meffan, in March last year. At the time, Burgess shared on Instagram that Billy was delivered via emergency C-section. 'Our hearts are bursting - after a long and insane ride with an emergency C-section to finish off the day, we have a perfect little man who we can't stop staring at,' she wrote.
The couple met on a dating app during COVID-19 and got engaged in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in July 2022. They married in an idyllic ceremony at Greystone Estate in the New South Wales Hunter Valley in 2023.
Career
Burgess found fame in 2008 when she joined the children's entertainment group Hi-5. After leaving the group in 2013, she pursued a solo singing and acting career, releasing the album 'Space to Breathe' in October 2020.
