Eurovision 2026: Everything You Need to Know About the 70th Song Contest in Vienna

The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Vienna, Austria, in May 2026, following JJ's victory in 2025 with the operatic ballad 'Wasted Love'. The Grand Final is scheduled for Saturday 16 May, with Semi-Finals on Tuesday 12 and Thursday 14 May.

BBC Studios will produce the BBC's coverage. The Semi-Finals will air live on BBC iPlayer and BBC One at 8pm, with commentary from Rylan and Angela Scanlon from the Wiener Stadthalle arena. Hosted by Austrian stars Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski, each Semi-Final will feature performances from the pre-qualified Big Four countries and interval acts. Ten contestants will be eliminated across both Semi-Finals, leaving 25 for the Grand Final.

UK viewers can vote in the second Semi-Final. The UK act LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER will perform his song 'Eins, Zwei, Drei' in the Semi-Final before competing in the Grand Final. Graham Norton will provide commentary for the Grand Final, which will include an opening act titled 'The Queen of the Night' featuring JJ and over 40 dancers and acrobats.

The UK's douze points will be delivered by jury spokesperson La Voix, the singer and global icon, live from Salford. Audio Description and British Sign Language interpretation will be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC One, with subtitles throughout.

On BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, Sara Cox will host the Semi-Finals, and Sara Cox and Rylan will present the Grand Final from 8pm to 11.30pm. Tia Kofi, star of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, will serve as the BBC's digital roving reporter, providing exclusive content across BBC social media channels.
