Ryan Gosling has revealed that his partner Eva Mendes and their two daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, are central to his decision-making process when choosing film roles. In a recent interview with Men's Health, the actor discussed his 'deathbed' approach to work, explaining that he considers whether a project will matter to him at the end of his life.
Gosling, 43, who is set to star in the upcoming action-comedy 'The Fall Guy', said that family always comes first. 'I don't think I'll regret anything professionally, but I do think when it comes to Eva and the girls, they come first,' he told the magazine.
The actor also shared that his daughters were instrumental in his involvement with the 'Barbie' movie, for which he performed the Oscar-nominated song 'I'm Just Ken'. They attended dress rehearsals and offered notes, which he described as 'great'.
Gosling emphasised that this perspective helps him navigate the distorting nature of the entertainment industry. 'Anytime I'm struggling, I just think about whether it's going to matter to me then,' he said.
