Ed Sheeran has announced plans to build a music venue in Suffolk, aiming to establish a long-term residency near his £3.7 million estate. The singer, known as 'Sheeranville' for his sprawling compound near Framlingham, wants to reduce time away from his wife Cherry Seaborn and their two daughters, Lyra and Jupiter.
In an interview with The Sun, Sheeran explained that a local venue would allow him to combine performing, songwriting, and family life. 'If I can get to a point where I'm playing shows, writing songs and hanging out with my family, then you can cut the noise out around that,' he said. He has already built a studio nearby for music production and practice.
Sheeran did not specify the venue's location, but he holds a 1.4% stake in Ipswich Town FC, whose Portman Road stadium seats 30,000. The club recently announced a management restructure to boost earnings. The singer recently completed his Mathematics tour, which grossed £655.8 million across 188 shows, and has hinted at one final tour before focusing on family.
Sheeran's property portfolio includes multiple homes in Suffolk, London, and Kent. He is reportedly merging two terraced houses in a Suffolk seaside village into a family home, designed to blend with the local landscape. The project aims to create a 'home-from-home by the sea' for his family.
