Atomic Kitten Reunion Teased by Natasha Hamilton - But Key Member Missing
Atomic Kitten reunion hinted by Natasha Hamilton

Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton has sent fans into a frenzy by hinting at a potential reunion for the iconic noughties girl band. The singer suggested that a new iteration of the group could be on the cards, though one major star appears to be missing from the lineup.

The Reunion Hint and Potential Lineup

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the 43-year-old chart-topper revealed that while the time isn't right immediately, she hasn't ruled out getting the band back together. 'I mean, never say never with a reunion,' Hamilton stated, 'because nostalgia always hits people at different times.'

She confirmed she's spent significant time with former bandmate Jenny Frost, 47, this summer, strengthening speculation about their collaboration. However, Hamilton noted that Liz McClarnon, 44, has just had a baby, making the present moment unsuitable for a full-scale comeback.

Notably absent from her reunion comments was any mention of Kerry Katona, 45, who was part of the band's original successful lineup and featured on their number one hit 'Whole Again' before her dramatic departure in 2001.

Atomic Kitten's Turbulent History

Natasha Hamilton joined Atomic Kitten in the late 1990s, just in time for their debut single release in 1999. She found fame alongside McClarnon and Katona during the band's initial rise to success.

The group's original formation actually consisted of Liz McClarnon, Kerry Katona, and future Sugababes star Heidi Range, 42, who left the band early to pursue a different record deal.

Atomic Kitten has experienced multiple comebacks throughout their career. They initially quit the charts in 2006, only to return briefly in 2008, and then reform again in 2012, performing occasional gigs over the following twelve years.

Renewed Interest and Future Prospects

The band has experienced a resurgence in popularity following their feature in the hit BBC documentary 'Girlbands Forever', produced by Louis Theroux's production company Mindhouse.

Reflecting on her time with the band, Hamilton shared: 'I think as the years go by and you get further and further away from it, your mind's recollection is like, 'Wow, it is almost like, did it really happen?' But I know it very much did, and I've got wonderful memories.'

She acknowledged that while the group experienced some hardships, 'the good times definitely outweighed it.' Hamilton emphasized the closeness between herself, Frost, and McClarnon, expressing hope that 'maybe in the future at some point we would be able to come together and do that.'

The potential reunion, while excluding Kerry Katona, would represent the lineup that continued the band's success after Katona's 2001 departure, during which they achieved their greatest commercial success.
