The glitz and glamour of the Australian music industry descended upon Sydney's Hordern Pavilion as the 2025 ARIA Awards officially got underway. The red carpet was a spectacle of fashion, setting the stage for a night celebrating the nation's top musical talent.
Red Carpet Fashion Hits and Misses
Former Miss Universe, Olivia Molly Rogers, was the first celebrity to illuminate the red carpet on Wednesday. The 33-year-old mum-to-be radiated confidence, showcasing her svelte figure in an elegant beige ruched midi dress. The gown featured a sophisticated high neckline, a flowing cape overlay, and a dramatically pleated skirt that cascaded down her legs.
She completed her look with classic white heels and delicate gold earrings. Her makeup, featuring a deep rose lip and subtle blush, perfectly accentuated her features. While many stars brought their sartorial A-game, the event also saw a few style choices that failed to impress the fashion critics.
Ninajirachi Leads the Charge with Eight Nominations
The awards ceremony itself is poised for intense competition, with newcomer Ninajirachi emerging as the frontrunner. The self-taught producer, aged just 26, has swept the board with a staggering eight nominations.
Her debut album, I Love My Computer, released only a few months ago, has earned her a place in the coveted Album of the Year and Best Solo Artist categories. She faces stiff competition from established acts like Thelma Plum, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Missy Higgins, and Amyl and The Sniffers for the album prize.
The battle for Best Solo Artist is equally fierce, featuring pop icon Kylie Minogue, indie favourite Mallrat, global superstar The Kid LAROI, and acclaimed artists like Dom Dolla and Thelma Plum.
Notable Nominees and Key Categories
Adding a touch of personal intrigue to the proceedings, Abbie Chatfield's boyfriend, Keli Holiday (real name Adam Hyde), has secured a nomination for Best Video with his song 'Dancing2'. The rocker, who is also part of the electronic duo Peking Duk, wrote the hit tune about his girlfriend.
Other major categories have set the stage for exciting showdowns. The Best Group award will see Amyl and The Sniffers, Folk Bitch Trio, Hilltop Hoods, Royel Otis, and RÜFÜS DU SOL go head-to-head.
Meanwhile, the Song of the Year category is packed with familiar tracks, including Dean Lewis's 'With You', The Kid LAROI's 'Girls', and the collaborative hit 'Dreamin' by Dom Dolla and Daya.
The 2025 ARIA Awards ceremony will take place on November 19, crowning the best in Australian music over the past year.
