The Official Traitors Board Game can be bought for 96p by new TopCashback and Argos customers, after a discount code cuts the upfront price to £16.80.
Argos is offering the game for £24, but shoppers who use the code TOYS30 at checkout can reduce it to £16.80. Those who sign up to TopCashback as new customers can then claim cashback that brings the effective cost down to 96p, provided they are also new Argos customers. Existing Argos customers who sign up to TopCashback are instead offered the game for £4.95 after cashback is applied, according to Yorkshire Live.
The initial £16.80 payment is required first, and the TopCashback bonus is paid within seven working days.
Gameplay and design
The official board game captures the suspense and high stakes of the BBC show, with a single game able to last up to three hours. It includes 161 pieces and accommodates four to six players, who secretly plot and scheme to uncover who is working against them before the next Round Table. The final showdown sees the two players with the most gold decide whether to share the winnings or betray each other.
Made from durable paper and plastic, the game is suited to games nights, parties or Christmas gatherings.
Alternative games for gatherings
For larger groups, shoppers could consider Herd Mentality (£18.99, Amazon), where players guess what everyone else will write. The host asks a random question, everyone answers in secret, and those in the majority earn points. The odd one out receives the Pink Cow, which freezes their entire score until someone else takes it.
Another option for three to eight players is The Chameleon (£19.99), where one secret player has no idea what the topic is and must bluff to avoid being caught.
Shopper reviews
Fans have praised the adaptation, with one review saying: “Very enjoyable It is quite surprising how a television programme adapts so well from the screen and gives hours of entertainment.”
Another wrote: “I bought this game about a month ago fantastic game for all the family whatever the age it brings to life all the drama of the television programme into the home.” A third remarked: “Bought as a gift and we love it! Great game for anyone who likes the traitors, or just anyone who loves a bit of murder mystery.” A fourth added: “Bought this game for the family and it’s been such a success.” A fifth said: “Cheaper than anywhere else I’ve seen it. Quick service.”
Some customers found the instructions complex, with one noting the game involves running around the house collecting things. Another wrote: “Be aware, you cannot play the game without smartphones. You cannot play more than 6 times, as people will know the outcome. The rules are too complicated, after 1 hour of attempting we put it back in the box, waste of money!”
