Celebrity Traitors fans have called out a 'missed opportunity' from the traitors as Bella Ramsey was murdered in a shocking twist. Viewers were left wondering who Traitors Maya Jama, James Acaster and Hannah Fry would murder after Industry actress Myha'la was banished on Thursday night (October 8).
The eventful episode also saw Withnail and I actor Richard E. Grant banished, with Hannah recruited by James and Maya to recruit him as a traitor. Returning on Friday night (October 9) with the fourth episode of its new series, the episode kicked off with the remaining contestants making their way to breakfast. It was then revealed that The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey was murdered by the traitors.
Bella's reaction to the murder
Learning of their fate, Bella said: “Oh yes, thought this might be occurring… I think this was a clever move by the traitors. I was going to reset and start from the beginning because I got it so wrong with Myha'la.
“I think they were right to murder me because I think I would have maybe figured it out. I hope the faithful win, I really do feel attached to the faithful now. Goodnight, this is the end.”
In a clip from the turret, Maya said that Bella, who uses they/them pronouns, was their 'biggest threat' and that the group of traitor hunters may 'disperse' with them gone. James agreed that killing them would 'make them spin out' and bring 'chaos'.
Fans call for James Blunt instead
Bella was one of the faithfuls who was trying their best to come up with the best theories to catch the pesky traitors out. Their standout moment arrived when EastEnders actor Ross Kemp thought they carried out a villainous secret task by placing a hat on his head in the very first challenge.
Following the shock murder, many viewers took to X, previously known as Twitter, to explain why they think pop star James Blunt may have been a better choice for Maya, James and Hannah to kill.
@The_Blue_Temple said: “Uhh I think they should have gone with James Blunt because he had all these BS theories and axing him would have 'legitimised' them! #CelebrityTraitors.” @evermorecrux added: “can’t believe they killed bella and not james blunt #celebritytraitors.”
@lizbedumb wrote: “JAMES ACASTER YOU HAVE BETRAYED ME HOW COULD YOU GET RID OF BELLA OVER JAMES BLUNT MY GOD #celebritytraitors.” @ZoeSomebody argued: “I'm glad James Blunt is still in. He's too funny to go.” @SarahLouise38_ stated: “BELLA OMG! I was so sure James Blunt was a goner #CelebrityTraitors.”
Prior to heading to bed in the prior episode, James told former Call the Midwife actress Miranda Hart that he was suspicious of EastEnders actor Ross, The Last of Us' Bella Ramsey and Coronation Street legend Julie Hesmondhalgh.
