In Crimson Desert, players can engage in pickpocketing to earn extra gold, but the ability is not immediately available. To unlock it, you must first obtain a mask to conceal your identity. Masks can be purchased from shops, such as the one in Hernand Town for 10 Copper, or looted from bandit corpses.
Once you have a mask, equip it from the radial menu by pressing L2 or R2 on the face slot. This enables the stealing and pickpocketing commands. To pickpocket an NPC, you must first distract them by walking into them, causing them to stumble. While they are recovering, hold L1 and look for the pickpocket command, then press the corresponding button to loot their pockets.
Pickpocketing typically yields a few Copper coins or occasionally a key to unlock nearby doors. However, it comes at a cost: it reduces your Faction Contribution in the area. Repeated thefts will cause guards and NPCs to view you negatively, potentially leading to fines.
To minimise reputation loss, commit crimes away from other NPCs and balance your activities by completing quests between pickpocketing attempts. This helps maintain a positive reputation and keeps guards off your trail.
