Cheltenham Festival Ladies Day Crowns Best Dressed Winner Amid Royal Attendance
Cheltenham Ladies Day Crowns Best Dressed Winner with Royal Guests

The Cheltenham Festival continued its vibrant momentum on Wednesday, with thousands flocking to Ladies Day in Gloucestershire, where a dazzling array of unique and colourful outfits took centre stage. Amid the fashion spectacle, medical secretary Megan Cunniss was crowned Best Dressed, earning accolades for her elegant ensemble.

Winner's Creative Journey

Megan Cunniss, a 29-year-old from Galway, revealed that she personally designed her award-winning outfit, expressing a strong intuition about her choice. "It's my first time at Cheltenham. I used to always watch it on the telly, and now I'm here. I designed the outfit myself. I don't know exactly how much I spent on it, but a lot," she shared.

Her creative process involves collaboration with her husband, who drafts the designs, and a manufacturer in the Middle East that produces their garments. Despite a playful disagreement with her husband over outfit selection, Cunniss stood by her decision, stating, "I had a good feeling about this one today. I really loved it."

Royal Glamour and Stylish Crowds

The event was graced by members of the royal family, including Queen Camilla, Zara Tindall with her husband Mike, and The Princess Royal, adding a touch of regal splendour to the festivities. Hundreds of well-dressed racegoers showcased eye-catching attire, from bold hats to coordinated skirts and jackets, creating a lively and fashionable atmosphere.

Cunniss reflected on her victory, saying, "Even without the Best Dressed it was a special day. I'm happy with the Best Dressed title and I'm thrilled with the prizes." Her win highlights the blend of personal creativity and high-stakes fashion that defines Ladies Day at the Cheltenham Festival.
