Lola Young Tells Crowd 'I've Missed This So Much' as She Ends UK Tour
Lola Young Ends UK Tour with Emotional Brixton Show

Lola Young told the crowd “I’ve missed this so much” as she rounded off her first UK tour since she collapsed on stage during a New York concert last year.

The 25-year-old Grammy winner brought the curtain down on a brief six-date UK tour at the O2 Academy Brixton on Friday night.

The warm summer air inside the Brixton academy was thick with anticipation, as chants of “Lola” came from an expectant crowd, 20 minutes before she began her set.

Young arrived on stage looking relaxed wearing a zip-up grey tracksuit and black high heels.

After finishing hit song D£aler, the pop star stopped and told the crowd she wanted to say something “serious” and referenced the “dark place” she was in last year.

She said: “I thought this is like it, no one’s going to show up, I felt like the world was properly closing in, and now, it’s all OK … So I just wanted to say, thank you so much.

“And to anyone who feels like they’re struggling with whatever it is you just have to remember, take time with yourself, surround yourself with people who love you, you are loved.”

Young collapsed on September 27 2025 while performing at the All Things Go music festival at Forest Hills Stadium in New York.

She could be seen swaying before falling backwards in viral videos of the moment, while performing Conceited from her second studio album.

The pop star cancelled all upcoming performances and told fans she was “going away for a while” and wanted to “come back stronger”.

Young, who is known for speaking out about mental health issues, returned to headlining shows in March for a one-off concert at the London Palladium.

Immediately after her heartfelt moment with the crowd there was a technical difficulty, which led Young to joke that she had “never had to talk so much” at a concert.

She then moved swiftly to the piano and launched into powerful acoustic versions of Can We Ignore It and Bad Game (3AM) while she waited for the issue to be fixed.

Her tour, running from June 10 to 19, saw the Messy singer stop in Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow before finishing with two dates in London.

Young told the crowd on Friday that they were the “rowdiest” she had on the tour.

“I’ve missed this so much but I will be back, and thank you, this means the world,” said Young.

She has recently released a new single From Down Here with singer songwriter James Blake, her first new music since the release of her last album I’m Only F****** Myself in autumn last year.

Young has had three UK top 40 singles and one top 10 album, and took home her first Grammy this year, winning Best Pop Solo Performance for Messy.

She kept the fans waiting for her breakout hit Messy, going off stage after her 15-song setlist before returning for an encore after minutes of fans cheering her back.

Before bringing the house down with the rendition, she said the six-day tour had been the “best thing ever” and thanked her team for “getting me through it”.

As Young danced her way around the stage, belting numbers and even throwing in the occasional high-kick, the message was clear, she’s back.
