Netflix has announced the cast for its upcoming Harlan Coben adaptation, The Woods, with Michelle Keegan and James Buckley among the new additions. Production on the series has begun, marking another collaboration between the streaming giant and the bestselling author.
Keegan, who starred in the hugely successful Fool Me Once, will play Lucy Silverfield. She is joined by Tom Bateman as lead character Paul 'Cope' Copeland, a barrister whose sister vanished from a summer camp 20 years ago. The pair reunite as former lovers to uncover the truth behind the disappearance.
The cast also includes Mandeep Dhillon, Pearce Quigley, and James Buckley, best known for The Inbetweeners. Tracy-Ann Oberman returns to the Coben universe after appearing in Run Away, alongside Tom Allen, Rade Sherbedgia, and others.
The series is based on Coben's 2007 novel, which was previously adapted as a Polish-language series in 2020. Danny Brocklehurst, who has worked with Coben on Stay Close and Fool Me Once, is lead writer. Coben described the story as 'haunting and very personal', while Brocklehurst called the cast 'an embarrassment of riches'.
