Sharon Osbourne has disclosed that a woman is utterly convinced she is the secret daughter of the late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. The shocking claim emerged during the family's first podcast appearance together since the Black Sabbath frontman's death.
Bizarre DNA Demand After Rock Star's Passing
In the wake of Ozzy's passing, Sharon described how the unidentified woman sent a deeply unusual package in a desperate bid to prove her alleged parentage. The parcel contained the woman's own toenail clippings, samples of her blood, and strands of her hair, accompanied by a plea for a DNA test.
Reflecting on the strange communications the family has received since Ozzy's death, their daughter Kelly remarked, 'We’ve had quite a few nutters coming out of the woodwork saying that they’re speaking to dad from the grave.' Sharon confirmed the story, stating plainly, 'We had one lady send us her toenails.'
Kelly elaborated further on the unsettling incident, explaining, 'It was a toenail, some blood, hair, because she’s absolutely convinced that she is dad’s child.'
Ozzy Osbourne's Family and Final Health Decline
Ozzy Osbourne died of heart failure at the age of 76 on July 22. His passing occurred at his Buckinghamshire home, merely two weeks after he performed a farewell concert with his bandmates at Birmingham's Villa Park.
Over his lifetime, the rock icon was a father to six children. He had three children with his first wife, Thelma Riley, whom he married in 1971 after meeting in a Birmingham nightclub. Together, they had Jessica and Louis, and Ozzy also adopted Thelma's five-year-old son Elliot from a previous relationship. With Sharon, to whom he was married until his death, he had three more children.
Elsewhere in the emotional podcast, the family opened up about the health decline that preceded his death. Sharon revealed that Ozzy suffered a fall in the first week of December which significantly impacted his health.
Sharon recalled, 'He wasn't feeling great and he took a little fall and he kept saying my back hurts... he went to the hospital.' Their son Jack, who is set to appear on the new series of I'm A Celebrity, added crucial context. 'He wasn't very good at handling pain... but being the gentleman he was, he didn't tell anyone he took a fall and it turned out he had a fracture in his back, in his vertebrae.'
A Domino Effect of Health Complications
Sharon explained the serious consequences of the injury, noting that while a fractured vertebrae can heal itself in about six weeks, Ozzy's overall condition made recovery unlikely. 'Someone of his age with his medical state, the condition of his body and the amount of drugs and other issues - you know it's not going to heal itself. It would have been a miracle,' she said.
Jack described the situation as the start of a 'domino effect', a sentiment with which Sharon agreed. The severe pain from his back forced him into the hospital, where he subsequently developed pneumonia. Sharon confirmed this was the third time he had battled pneumonia in the past year. The combination of the spinal fracture and the respiratory illness left him profoundly uncomfortable in his final days.
